As usual, last night before bed I checked my email only to find my VPS host down! It was the third time in a week that this had happened. Apparently VPSLand has been having some serious server stability issues. Being the third time in a week, it was time to take action. I did the normal routine of filing a support request (which they finally answered at 4:30 AM, 5 and a half hours after I put it in) that the server my VPS is on is down again. It didn't come back until mid afternoon today... nearly 14 hours after I filed a support request!

During my wait, I surfed around a bit and found Linode. If you're reading this now, you're reading it being hosted from Linode! Rather than deal with the problems VPSLand is having, I pulled the plug on them and copied everything over to Linode!

Thanks for getting me up and running so fast guys! Now I have more memory, more hard drive space, and more bandwidth to use for the same price! So long VPSLand, Hello Linode!!

BTW: If you want to sign up for Linode, use my referral link: Click Here!

As you can probably see, I've started a new site design. Please be patient while the changes come through. I should have it all done by this weekend.

So this post doesn't have much of anything to do with this site, but a lot to do with me. I got married this weekend to my wonderful wife Sri!

I've switched over to a new hosting provider. I wanted a little more control of the systems administration so I switched from shared hosting to a VPS. Hopefully everything still works for everyone.

This should be the last status update on the site setup for a while! Everything seems to be working as it should. My next trick will be to get the subversion repository up on here as well for access to the open source code I'm writing. Namely the GLSCollections project. That'll have to come another day though... I better get to sleep before the soon to be wife realizes I'm still up and playing on the computer!

So getting the blog integrated into the design of the main site was much easier than I thought it would be! Thanks for the good folks at Serendipity for writing such great blogging software and making it so easy on those of us not that savvy at web design!

Now I just have to make it so Firefox and other web browsers realize that this page is a blog and has an RSS feed.

So I'm just now getting the blog set up. One of these days I'll have to figure out how to integrate this blog with the main site better. If anyone has any ideas on how to do this, leave a comment. I'm not a web designer!
